As we are counting the days to the SBY-Boediono presidential inauguration day on October 20, 2009, I feel the political epicentrum centered in Cikeas (the private presidential residence) is producing an ever greater powerful attraction to those seeking benefit to be listed in the future cabinet member list. Surely, this is not so special as each of the new president must need numbers of dependable and competent aids. However, this epicentrum has attracted not only professionals with merit and integrity, the lame short-sighted political benefit seeker hiding behind all the greatness of political party affiliation might be joined as well.
This is what we call the post-presidential election to the inauguration day as politically enigmatic. The ideal political situation after the presidential election must picture the ideological polarization among parties which are composing member of coalition, residing comfortably under SBY’s armpit and the rest of other parties must stand as oppositions. The good samples for coalition parties are PKS (Justice and Welfare Party) and PPP (The United Development Party). On the other hand, PDIP (The People’s Struggle Party) and Golkar (The Party of Functional Groups) are the expected parties in line for opposing the coalitions. Therefore, the member of SBY-Boediono cabinet must also come from the coalition member or those people proposed from them. It is enigmatic because it seems that now all the parties do not seem to have that idealism anymore. They are all barely restrain themselves to be attracted to the epicentrum. They are dying to be mentioned as the possible name list of SBY-Boediono cabinet.
This is pathetic….why bother to have all the studies and preparations with significant money supplied for holding the new election system, while the result is not far from seeking the best result for some political advantages. Of course, you don’t need to be smart to figure where all those political benefit may end up.
People do not trust crocks from political party anymore. In order to heal this pain, political parties must be reformed. They must prove themselves that they can bring the benefit to the people if only if the government in power is performing poorly. For that, those political parties must dare to oppose themselves from the power. They must be brave enough to have distinct ideology which will polarized the political power.
At last, I strongly suggest for those political parties which are now pushing themselves closer to Cikeas, please, think about your people’s trust. Become an opposition is noble. Politics need to be plural, not uniform. Don’t dissipate your people since they are not stupid at all. And for the President, please use your wisdom to choose your aids. Your decision will not only affect 5 years of your rule, but more than that. It’s all about your wisdom.
Why “Ra-Conquista?”
Raconquista is a combination of two words: Ra which is Ratri (my name) and Conquista which is taken from spanish word Conquistador (the conqueror). Therefore, raconquista can be interpreted as my wish to conquer “the world”, the world of ignorant and stubborn ones. The world which has never been easy to be convinced that someone out there is reaching out for help to be a better one.
